In 2009, SMS merged with Bastyr University. Its work continues at Bastyr in the Department of Midwifery and Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations.
Following the merger, the SMS archives for 1978 to 2009 were donated to the University of Washington Libraries Special Collections Dept.
