DEI Training at BU

DEI Competency Development Program

As of November 2022, BU requires all faculty and staff to participate in the DEI Competency Development Program. The first phase involves core faculty and staff, and the second phase (to launch in Summer 2023) includes adjunct faculty and sub-shifts. Please contact the office of Diversity & Inclusion if you have any questions.

DEI History and Heritage Learning Series

To provide the Bastyr community with opportunities for learning about history and cultures during heritage and history months, the Office of DEI launched the History and Heritage Learning Series. The site provides an overview of the University’s commitment to DEI and the strategic framework that guides our DEI work, the latest news and information (as well as archived DEI newsletters), opportunities for engagement, a calendar for cultural and religious commemorations and celebrations, and gateway resources to build DEI competency.

Center for Social Justice and Diversity 

The Center for Social Justice and Diversity supports the education and training of Bastyr community members in culturally responsive practices and dismantling of health inequities and disparities. Learn more about the Center’s program areas, which include student and faculty/staff mentorship and support, community education events and outreach, and equity research opportunities.
