Welcome to the Ayurveda Research Guide

This guide is an introduction to finding information pertaining to Ayurvedic Sciences.  Ayurveda (Sanskrit for "science of life") is based on 5,000-year-old Indian medical traditions. Its practices include nutrition, herbal medicine, massage and internal cleansing.  It also employs its own unique diagnostic, preventive and disease management practices.

In this guide, you will find information on the kinds of resources that are available to you, and how to use them to find information on Ayurveda. If you have any questions about your topic or a particular resource, please ask one of your friendly librarians.

There are not a huge number of resources pertaining to Ayurveda available online, compared to other systems of medicine.  This guide is not exhaustive, but tries to pull together the best available resources to get you started on your research.

Be sure to check out our "How To" Guides to help you get started with search skills, writing and citation tips.
