The PubMed database provides access to internationally published research studies in medicine and the life sciences; it currently contains over 25 million citations so it takes some skill to get the best results!
- Watch this brief video to see some of PubMed's filters in action.
- Then explore PubMed yourself!
- Notice that PubMed automatically puts the newest articles at the top of the search. You can sort by "Best Match" instead of date to (hopefully!) get the most relevant results at the top instead, this feature isn't perfect, but it can help you avoid scrolling through pages of results to find what you want.
Note for those already familiar with PubMed basics (already!): We'll be covering advanced search features for focusing on clinical studies, CAM interventions, etc., next year, in ICS 4-6.
