PS5401: Mind-Body Approaches to Health Psychology

This tutorial aims to provide foundational research tools and build on advanced skills for locating relevant, trustworthy sources for your research, both academic and professional.
It should take you about one hour to complete, and librarians will review sources and answer questions in class.

Tutorial Competencies:

1. Understand types of articles including primary, scholarly and peer reviewed. Create effective search strategies using advanced search techniques including specialized database features and Boolean operators.
2. Understand the difference between subject headings and keywords, and how to incorporate them into search strategies.
3. Ability to run advanced PsycINFO and PubMed  searches, and to find subject headings within these databases.
4. Understand why it is important to cite sources and how to construct citations in APA style.
