Academic & Professional Conferences 101: What they are, why go & how to present

The Academic & Professional Conferences 101 workshop will give you a brief overview of what these conferences are, what the benefits are for attending (whether in person or online), and tips for reviewing proposals to present.
See examples of recent and upcoming conferences in a variety of areas in natural health, public health, nutrition, psychology and more.
Participants will review the proposals together for a hands-on overview of how to decide whether or not you'd like to attend a specific event, break down proposals, and tips for successful submissions.
Learn more about our own Bastyr University Faculty & Student Research Symposium and how you can present your work to be showcased online June 13-17, 2022.

How-To Workshops for Poster Development 5/11-5/12 [Part 1]

In Part 1 of this 2-part series, we will:
walk you through what to do once you get your poster accepted for presentation;
share some best practice on how to build a poster (software, templates, logos, etc);
and discuss special considerations for online presentations.
Topics here are a general overview of considerations that go into presenting posters at the professional level and will cover some specifics about presenting at the BU Faculty & Student Research Symposium this year as well.
